As name implies this comic is actually a file. It's presented as a fictional government brief detailing documents of correspondence between the tyrant Trevor Goodchild and his subordinates, dictated monologues in text, confiscated propaganda from the Berognican Agenda, the panels that seem like traditional comic format are actually stills from video-surveillance. The presentation is very unique for the graphic novel format, but was a gamble that may turn off some readers.
The main plot: Trevor's administration faces the threat of the Berognican Movement, an underground rebellion that states that the feuding states of Monica (Aeon Flux's resident state, near-anarchy) and Bregna (Trevor's autocracy) were at one point unified and tranquil. This of course, does not sit well with the leader so he contracts the title character to investigate and put a stop to the movement. As usual, Aeon has her own plans. As usual, Trevor can't stay mad at her because of his inconvenient infatuation with Miss Flux.

There exists a vivid live-action film of Aeon Flux, starring Charlize Theron, this has also led to a video game. Originally, Aeon Flux was a series on MTV. There is a wonderful box set of the episodes for quite an affordable price (link to the right of article.)
